Chapter 6: 2027 target
Chapter 6 is currently targeting a 2027 release, per the official Steam FAQ. In the Chapter 5 launch newsletter, Toby Fox described Chapter 6 development as moving well — cutscenes and NPC interactions are making good progress, overworld gimmicks are in place, enemies and bullets are “mostly complete,” and work is focused on the final boss’s bullets. He called it “easier to make than the others.”
Chapter 7
The final planned chapter has no release window. Fox noted it’s “not unrealistic” that some developers could begin work on Chapter 7 before the end of 2026, which would be the first time the team touched it — but the chapter itself is a longer way off.
How updates work
DELTARUNE’s releases are free updates for owners: buy the game once and every future chapter arrives at no cost. Chapters 3+4 were the first paid release (June 5, 2025), Chapter 5 shipped free on June 24, 2026, and Chapters 6–7 will follow the same model.
